Here and Gone in a Flash

These two mugs went practically from the kiln right into someone’s possession. I was participating in a holiday charity sale of art at the community center where I work in the clay studio, and I had no sooner put these out when someone snapped them up. I managed to take this rather bad cell phone photo before they disappeared. Not that I’m complaining! I hope my customer enjoys these mugs as much as I had fun making them.

A Puffin with a Big Nose

This not-so-little guy started out looking more like a toucan. I had to keep shaving off more of his beak until he started to look like the puffin I intended! The beak is still kinda big though! An original!

You can see the indentations I poked into the bottom of the pot to hold flower stems upright. Every time I make one of these bird vases, I work on the functionality a bit more.
